WhatsApp 2.20.201.6 beta for Android has got a glimpse of a new feature, which will be called ‘Expiring Media’. As the name suggests, this feature will make the media files sent to the users like images, videos and GIFs disappear once they are viewed. Initially, the information about this feature was received through WhatsApp 2.20.201.1 beta. But through the latest beta version, it has now been suggested that how this feature will finally work for the users.

This pop-up message will read, “This media will disappear once you leave this chat” (This media file will disappear as soon as you leave the chat). This message will be visible to the user on the shared media file using the new feature.

Apart from this, in a screenshot shared via the source, it can also be seen that as soon as the user receiving the message leaves the chat, a bubble will appear with the words “View once photo expired”. WhatsApp will also introduce a dedicated button for this feature, which will help in sending files while enabling the expiring media feature, this button may be called View Once.

The reference that surfaced is part of the latest WhatsApp beta version, although the feature is not visible to end users. But first came information As this feature is progressing, it can be expected that it can be made available at least to beta testers in the future.
