WhatsApp has been embroiled in controversy for the past few months regarding its new privacy policy. According to the report, WhatsApp, in response to a petition filed in the Delhi High Court against its privacy policy update, has said that many internet-based apps and websites have similar policies and some companies collect more data than this. The Facebook-owned instant messaging app has reportedly cited the privacy policy of Big Basket, Koo, Ola, Truecaller and Zomato as well as the government’s contact tracing app Aarogya Setu in its affidavit.
