The redesigned storage usage section was initially leaked by the same blog in June. It shows in detail the space occupied by media files shared on WhatsApp. Forwarded files and large files, there is a separate listing under Settings > Data and storage usage > Storage usage > Suggest clean up option.
Users can also sort their files by date or by their size. This update helps users to delete their non-important forwarded files and those files in a faster way and they can also manage their phone’s storage with ease.
WhatsApp has not given any information about when the developers will release this feature in the stable version for all users. It is important to note that the redesigned storage usage section is not initially available to all beta testers and is being rolled out gradually through WhatsApp 2.20.9.9 beta.
