There is no doubt about it that all the smartphones were similar in appearance till some time. But this year some manufacturers have launched new flagship phones with thinner bezels and longer screens. Now, most of the manufacturers are using 18:9 aspect ratio and buyers are also coming forward to buy the new look smartphone. Smartphone maker Oppo is also in its new Oppo F5 has been included in this list. We got a chance to spend some time with this new variant at the time of the official launch. Let us know what the phone looks like at first glance.

The big display in the phone is the first thing that grabs attention. The F5 sports a 6-inch FullHD+ screen. The screen with 18: 9 ratio fits only in 5.5 inch screen size. The sides of the phone are thin and 152 grams cannot be called heavy. The power and volume buttons are easily accessible.

On the front, the phone houses an earpiece and a 20-megapixel selfie camera. The bottom part of the phone is empty as the on-screen navigation buttons are provided in the Oppo smartphone.

The back of the phone is curved near the edges, due to which the phone’s grip remains convenient. Our gold review unit has silver antenna lines on the top and bottom which are nice to see. The phone has a 16-megapixel rear camera with aperture F / 1.8. The sensor is slightly raised but there is a metal ring around it which will protect the lens from any kind of scratches. Oppo has placed a loudspeaker, Micro-USB port and 3.5mm socket at the bottom while there is a second microphone on the top.

The phone has an octa-core MediaTek MT6763T processor. The base variant of Oppo F5 has 4 GB RAM and 32 GB storage but the company has also launched a higher priced 6 GB RAM / 64 GB variant. The F5 is a dual SIM device with two nano-SIM slots and a microSD card slot. The phone doesn’t come with a hybrid design, so you won’t have to sacrifice another SIM card to expand the storage. To give power to the phone, there is a 3200 mAh non-removable battery.

In terms of software, the F5 runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with ColorOS on top. The UI is a bit different as compared to the stock Android. But if you have used Oppo phone before this then the problem should not be there.
