The S Power planning feature has been made a part of a handset for the first time. It seems that through this the company is trying to benefit young customers.

There are three features available in S Power planning. Reserve battery for phone calls, this feature reserves part of the battery for calls and messages. Three power saving levels are given in Extend Battery Time. With the help of Forward Call, users will be able to forward all the calls to a specified number in case the battery runs out. With Extend Battery Time, the user will get twice the battery life than normal time. A Samsung representative says that to do this, many background activities will be turned off in the phone. S power planning can prove to be useful in common use. Because we often forget to charge the phone due to being busy.

Another new feature is S Secure which is related to security and privacy. It comes with the option to lock and hide the app. We have also seen the Secure Folder feature on the Galaxy Note7.

Samsung has also given S bike mode in both the smartphones. The S bike mode was first launched with the Galaxy J3 (6). For user convenience, Samsung has placed S Power Planning, S Secure and S Bike Mode toggles in the quick settings panel.

The metal-bodied Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime and J5 Prime offer a strong feel. Apart from this, both the phones also give the feel of being heavy in terms of their build. The weight of the J7 Prime is 167 grams and that of the J5 Prime is 143 grams. The front panel of both the phones is equipped with 2.5D round-edge Corning Gorilla Glass which gives it a premium look. The Home button is located between the Recent and Back capacitive buttons. Both the phones have fingerprint scanner integrated in the home button itself. In both phones, the power button is on the right and the volume button is on the left. The 3.5mm audio jack and micro-USB charging port are present at the bottom of the phone. The company logo is present in the upper part of the display of both the phones. Due to the curved edges, we did not have any problem in holding these phones in our hands.

Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy J5 Prime It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, over which Samsung’s TouchWiz skin has been used. Select Microsoft apps will come pre-installed in both models. The Galaxy J5 Prime sports a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It is equipped with 1.4 GHz quad-core processor with 2 GB RAM. The display of J5 Prime is vibrant and bright. According to us, the screen of J7 Prime is much better. Both the phones support dual-SIM.

In the limited time we spent with the Galaxy J7 Prime and J5 Prime, we found that both the phones responded well to touch inputs. The phone worked fast even during multitasking. The Galaxy J7 Prime has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. Its lens is with f / 1.9 aperture. It also has an 8 megapixel front camera. After using the camera, we found that the J7 Prime took crisp pictures in indoor lighting. The front camera took good selfies. The Galaxy J5 Prime also has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. Its lens is with f / 1.9 aperture. However, the sensor of its front camera is 5 megapixels. We found that the photos the J5 Prime took in artificial light were crisp. However, we did get complaints about blurring at the edges of the pictures. The front camera took decent pictures. Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy J5 Prime have been launched at Rs 18,790 and Rs 14,790 respectively. The Galaxy J7 Prime has been made available in India while the Galaxy J5 Prime will go on sale by the end of the month.

At this price point, the new Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy J5 Prime will take on popular handsets like the Moto G4 Plus, Nextbit Robin and Lenovo Vibe X3.
