WhatsApp was facing criticism for the past several days due to its new privacy policy, due to which the instant messaging platform is also suffering a lot. At the same time, now the latest report has revealed that in the month of January compared to the month of December, people had also reduced the use of the payment feature of WhatsApp, due to which WhatsApp has suffered a huge loss in the case of UPI transactions. According to the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) data released by the National Payments Corporation of India (NIII), in January, users made payments through WhatsApp extremely low. However, on the contrary, PhonePe has topped in this category. According to the NPCI report, PhonePe app has garnered 41.21 per cent share in the total market share in the race for UPI apps, in which the terms of transactional volume of all apps is 2.35074 billion. The strong position of the Walmart-owned app has made it difficult for Google Pay to reach the top, which is still in second place.

Despite the loss in transaction volumes, the Facebook-owned app saw a 22 per cent increase in payment value from 364.4 million in January. Whereas in the previous month it was reportedly 29.72 crores.

As we mentioned, PhonePe is at the top of this list, which has received 968.72 million transactions in the month of January, which is worth 1,91,973.77 crores. The transaction value on the PhonePe app stood at 902.03 million by 7.39 percent in December.

After PhonePe, Google Pay is at number two in this list, under which 853.53 million transactions were done in January, worth Rs 1,77,791.47 crore. Google Pay has seen a loss of 0.1 percent, which was 854.49 million in the month of December, worth Rs 176,199.33 crore.

Paytm Payments Bank is once again on the third position in this list, in which transactions of 281.18 million were done in January, which was worth 33,909.50 crores. Talking about Amazon Pay, there were 46.30 million transactions in it, which is worth 4,044.38 crores.
