In June this year, Lenovo announced its flagship smartphone for 2016 moto z launched. Make this phone a new smartphone with Mote Mods Comes with design. These accessories that can be attached separately can make the smartphone more functional. This concept is definitely the best improvement ever given in the smartphone.

Now the company has taken another step forward and the more affordable variant of Moto Z is Moto Z Play. has been introduced. This phone too has the same modular design as the Z but its specifications are similar to that of a mid-range smartphone. moto z Play was introduced at IFA 2016 and we got to spend some time with it.

modular design
The biggest feature of the Moto Z Play is that it comes with Moto Mod. Moto Mod is an optional accessory that can be added separately to the smartphone to make it more functional. The new Moto Z Play also supports Moto Mods. The Moto Mods offered by the company work on both these devices. Lenovo has promised that these Moto Mods will work with the upcoming three generations of the Moto Z.

As of now, there are four Moto Mods available for purchase in the market. These include the Hasselblad True Zoom Mod launched with the Moto Z Play. Attaching the Moto Mod to the Moto Z Play is very easy and we really liked it. You do not need to open the phone or change anything. Just touch the mod on the rear of the phone and it will attach like a magnet.

It is equally easy to disassemble the mod from the phone. For this you just have to pull the accessory. The connectivity of the mod is also very good. We attached JBL Soundboost when music was already playing on the phone and the Z Play quickly detected it and within minutes the phone switched on without us doing anything. The same applies to other mods and they can be attached and detached from the rear in a similar way.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Processor
The Moto Z and the Moto Z Force available in the US have Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 processor. At the same time, Snapdragon 625 processor has been given in Moto Z Play. The same processor is also in Asus’s Zenfone 3 series phone. Moto Z Play has 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage (with microSD card support) and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Although, we cannot say whether this phone will perform like the Moto Z or not but it is definitely very affordable.

This phone has a screen with a lower resolution than the Moto Z. The phone has 5.5 inch Full HD Super AMOLED screen. At this density, where the pixels do not look different, but there is a noticeable difference in the screen of both the phones. However, if comparisons are put aside, the Moto Z Play has a decent screen.

16 megapixel camera
Moto Z Play has 16 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front camera. Flash is provided in both the cameras. The rear camera supports hybrid autofocus and up to 4K resolution video recording. Camera performance is pretty much the same as that of the Moto G4 Plus. The G4 Plus also has a 16-megapixel rear camera.

The device packs a 3510 mAh battery which is slightly bigger than the Moto Z. Motorola claims that the phone can be used mixed for 45 hours but we will reserve our decision on this till the complete review process. The phone comes with a turbo charger, with which the company claims that the battery can be charged for up to 8 hours of use in 15 minutes.

The Moto Z Play supports Nano SIM cards and Motorola is yet to reveal the arrival of its dual SIM variant in India. We expect the Dual SIM variant Moto Z Play to be launched in India. The phone has a fingerprint sensor, a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack and a liquid-repellent nano-coating. However, the specification of this phone has not been disclosed for the Indian market yet. But this phone can be launched for less than Rs 30,000. Lenovo may launch Moto Z Play and Moto Mod and Style Shell alongside Moto Z in India.
