Apart from this, you will also get a fingerprint sensor in the back of the phone. Apart from this, you will get a removable battery in the phone, which is not usually seen in any handset launched these days. Is Moto E6s the best budget smartphone? Let’s know…
Moto E6s Design
The design of the Moto E6S is quite simple and basic. The border around the display is a bit thick and the notch has got a place in the upper part of the front pan. The volume and power buttons are on the right side of the phone. We liked the contrasting texture of the power button, the 3.5mm headphone jack will be found at the top of the phone. The laminated back and sides look like two separate layers, but they are part of the same shell.
Moto E6s will get two color variants in India, Rich Cornberry and Polished Graphite. Fingerprints fall easily on both the color variants. The red version of the Moto E6S comes with a dual-tone finish that hides fingerprints on the device but doesn’t clean up easily. The Moto E6s has two SIM-slots and a separate microSD card slot.
It is possible to increase the storage up to 512 GB with the help of microSD card. For the information of you people, let us tell you that the Moto E6S only takes a Micro-SIM in one SIM-slot. For security, a fingerprint sensor has been given in the back of the phone, which works properly. The Moto logo will be found on the fingerprint sensor. With the help of fingerprint sensor, the phone does not unlock fast but its success rate is good.
Face recognition works well in sufficient light but it does not work properly in low light. It is worth noting that it is not much faster than the face unlock feature found in other budget smartphones but it does work. There is a Micro-USB port and a single loudspeaker at the bottom of the phone. The phone has a 6.1-inch full-HD + (720×1560 pixels) OLED Max Vision display.
The display looked quite bright in the outdoors and the colors were also correct. The viewing angles of the phone are also good. The aspect ratio is 19.5: 9, due to which the phone is big but it is not very wide, so the phone was good to hold in hand. The Moto E6 is not heavy as it weighs 150 grams and is 8.6 mm thick. In the retail box, you’ll find a USB cable, a 10W charger, some manuals, a case, and a nano-to-micro SIM adapter.
Moto E6s specifications and software
Octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor has been used in Moto E6S. Recall that this processor can be used on Realme C2 (review) and has happened in the LG W30 as well. Only one variant of Moto E6S has been launched in the Indian market, which is equipped with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage.
Other specifications of the Moto E6s include Bluetooth version 4.2, single-band Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB-OTG, FM radio, support for three satellite navigation systems, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity. Sensors are part of this phone. It is worth noting that the gyroscope or compass sensor has not found place in the phone.
The Moto E6S runs on Android Pie and comes with the stock interface. The Moto E6s is not part of Google’s Android One program. The phone will get the FM radio app, Moto Help and Motorola Notifications, with the help of which you can find the nearest Moto Hub store or service center. Apart from the Digital Wellbeing feature in the phone, there are also some gestures such as double-tapping on the power button to turn on the camera.
Moto E6s performance and battery life
In terms of performance, the Moto E6S is good for running apps and doing a bit of multitasking. Navigating the Android menu is fast but not fluid. Sometimes the UI animation slows down a bit. The 4 GB RAM on the phone keeps many apps running smoothly in the memory and the app load time was not bad either.
Games also played well in the Moto E6S.
You will not get the best experience in the full version of PUBG Mobile. PUBG Mobile Lite still ran better. After 30 minutes of gameplay, the phone did get a bit hot, along with 11 percent battery consumption. Even after turning on the ‘BesLoudness’ sound enhancement option, the sound from the speaker is not very loud. Viewing angles of the display are good.
The 3,000 mAh battery works to bring life to the phone, which lasts for almost the whole day. The phone lasted for 12 hours and 22 minutes in our HD video battery loop test. If you do not use the phone continuously, then the battery of the phone can last more than a day. The rapid charger that comes with the phone is able to charge the phone only 15 percent in half an hour and about 30 percent in an hour. It takes about 3 hours and 45 minutes for the phone to be fully charged.
Moto E6s cameras
Two rear cameras have been given in Moto E6S, 13-megapixel primary sensor, its aperture is F / 2.0 and 2-megapixel depth sensor. There will be an 8-megapixel front camera for selfie and video calling. The shooting mode and shutter buttons in the camera app are given at the bottom and buttons for different modes at the top of the viewfinder. The Moto E6S also comes with AI scene detection that can be turned on or off.
Google Lens can also be used from the Camera app. Autofocus is not very fast, so capturing fast-moving objects even when there is enough light is a challenge. HDR does a decent job when shooting against light but the dynamic range is a bit limited. Details were captured well in close-up shots. Shots taken in daylight look overexposed.
In Bokeh mode, you will get a slider to adjust the level of background blur. There is a separate beauty shooting mode for smoothing the subject face, other shooting modes include video and panorama. The camera has a little difficulty locking focus in low light.
Shots taken with the Moto E6S at night don’t capture details well and landscape shots look a bit grainy. Selfies taken with the front camera were average in daylight. The phone has HDR but it is not very useful. Selfies taken at night show grain and lack of detail. Screen flash is also not very useful.
Video quality is also average in daylight and there is no electronic stabilization at 1080 resolution. Image quality lacked sharpness in low light and details were not captured well.
Probably the Moto E6S will be the only phone at this price which is equipped with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage which is quite good. Recently, we have seen many such phones in this price segment that come with bigger batteries. Xiaomi’s Redmi 8A comes with Type-C port and fast charging support, along with a bigger battery.
The Moto E6S has a good display and for this price the device has good RAM and storage. If you do not have problem with less RAM and storage then in the market realme 3i ,review) And redmi 7 There are other better options as well.
