Microsoft claims that the Surface Laptop is reliable, portable and lightweight. It has been introduced in a sleek design with a premium finish. And the Elsentra fabric given in Surface Pro 4 comes with keyboard and backlight. The Surface Laptop sports a 13.5-inch PixelSense touchscreen display with 1080p resolution, 3:2 aspect ratio and 3.4 million pixels. Microsoft says that this laptop has been given the ‘most addressable touchscreen LCD display’. The base variant of the Surface Laptop has the latest Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD storage, while users can opt for Intel Core i7 processor variants in addition to other memory and storage.
The biggest highlight of the Surface Laptop is that it is claimed to get up to 14.5 hours of battery life. The laptop has a USB port, a Mini DisplayPort, Surface Power connector, SD card slot and a 3.5mm audio jack. The device weighs 1.25 kg and measures 14.47 mm by 9.9 mm.
Microsoft has used a vapor chamber on the rear of the laptop to keep components cool and prevent overheating. There is no hole in the laptop. So you might wonder where the speakers are. Microsoft has placed the speaker below the keyboard. While the device that comes with Windows Ink and Windows Hello support and great design may attract some users, the price may dampen the enthusiasm of some. Microsoft has priced the Surface Laptop with Core i5 processor at $999 (Rs 64,000).
Microsoft claims that the Intel Core i7 variant of the Surface Laptop is faster than the current i7-powered MacBook Pro. And he added that the new Surface Laptop will provide more battery life than any other MacBook Air laptop in the market.
This laptop runs on Windows 10 S, the device can run apps only from Windows Store. However, users can upgrade as per their need. As mentioned, the device is available for pre-order and will go on sale from June 15.
