Micromax launches its first laptop, priced below Rs 14,000

With an aim to strengthen its hold in the laptop segment, the country’s leading smartphone maker Micromax has launched Canvas Lapbook. Speaking on the occasion, the company said that it aims to achieve 10 per cent market share in the laptop segment in the next 12-18 months.

The company has launched its Canvas Lapbook for Rs 13,999. It will be available on e-commerce website Snapdeal from Friday. In the laptop segment, Micromax will compete with well-known brands like HP, Dell and Lenovo.

Subhajit Sen, Chief Marketing Officer, Micromax said, “Micromax has always strived to integrate the best of technology to meet the needs and budget of the consumer. The Canvas Lapbook will meet the need for affordable computers.”

“With our entry into the laptop category, we aim to capture 10 per cent market share in the next 12-18 months,” he said.

Micromax Canvas Lapbook is powered by 1.83 GHz quad-core Intel Atom processor. Lapbook will run on Windows 10 operating system. It will come with dual speakers. It sports an 11.6-inch HD IPS display and has 32GB of inbuilt storage that is expandable with the help of a microSD card (up to 64GB). The device has a 5000 mAh battery. According to the company, the battery will last for 11 hours in normal use. The weight of this lapbook is 1.3 kg.

With this Micromax has launched its second generation laptab has also been introduced. The Laptop LT7777 is priced at Rs 17,999 and will be available on Amazon India from Tuesday.
