MacBook Pro to include Touch ID power button and OLED screen: Report

In May this year, noted KGI Securities analyst Ming Shi Kuo had said that the MacBook Pro will see the most upgrades among Apple devices launching in 2016. He had claimed that two new variants of the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro will be launched in the fourth quarter. And both these laptops will have an OLED display panel above the keyboard which will act as a replacement for the physical function button.

Now 9 to 5 Google has claimed, citing ‘trusted sources’, that the new MacBook Pro variant will have a Touch ID power button in addition to the OLED function key panel.

The MacBook Pro model is expected to launch in September this year. As previously reported in the KGI report, the new MacBook laptops will get Touch ID support, but there was a lack of selective information related to this feature. Now there are reports of this Touch ID coming in the power button and before that the previous iPhone In the variant, Touch ID was given in the home button itself.

The KGI analyst claimed that the new MacBook Pro series will have a faster Intel Skylake processor apart from USB Type-C and Thunderbolt 3. According to a KGI report, the new variants will have AMD’s new 400-series Polaris graphic cards.

Intel’s new Skylake architecture in the MacBook launched in April was given faster RAM, better battery life. And it comes with a new Rose Gold color variant.
