BevQ App is the virtual queue management app of the Liquor (liquor) cell of Kerala, which is now finally available for download on Google Play Store for Android. The app, which was awaited for the past few weeks, was launched yesterday by the Kerala State Beverages Corporation (BEVCO). This app has been created by Kochi based startup Faircode Technologies Private Limited. It is worth noting that within 24 hours of launch, this app has been downloaded more than 1 lakh times. This has been revealed through Google Play Store listing. Although many users have raised questions about the quality of this app on Twitter and Google Play Store, especially these questions are related to OTP generation.

Google Play As per the app description of, “BevQ is a virtual queue management application and a token service provided by Kerala State Beverages Corporation Limited. The purpose of this app is specifically to maintain social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through this, clients can collect their queue number (line number) and token sitting at home, which will reserve their place in the line at the liquor store.”

BevQ app supports both English and Malayalam language. To use this app, the user has to provide his name, mobile number and pin code. The user who enters his number through this app, first gets the QR code along with the e-token on his mobile phone. This token is scanned at the liquor store and after that the customer can buy the liquor.

There is also news that through the BevQ app, a customer can buy liquor only once in four days in the state. A customer who does not have an e-token will not be able to buy alcohol. Apart from this, people who live in red zone areas will also not be able to put numbers for the purchase of liquor through this app. The e-token is sent via SMS.
