IRCTC is the most popular destination for online train tickets. The website of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has been upgraded. Many new features have been added to it so that the user experience can be better. At present, the option of using the new website has been given on the old IRCTC website itself. In the new website of IRCTC, the old feature has been retained, along with many new functional features have been added. Among them, the waitlist prediction feature is very important. For the convenience of our readers, we have scrutinized this website and found some useful features for you.

  1. Now any person can search about the train on the new IRCTC website. Can check about seat availability. Doing this on the old website required a login. But now all these tasks can be performed without logging in. Actually, the first interface of this website is Book Your Ticket. From here you will be able to check train status as well as check PNR status.
  2. The train category shown on the top menu bar on the IRCTC website can now be selected from options such as Book Ticket, Cancel Ticket, PNR Enquiry, Train Schedule and Track Your Train.
  3. Class, train, destination, departure/arrival time and quota based filters will now be visible on the IRCTC website on a single page. Here you can change the things according to your need and preference. Now on one screen, the user will get information like train name, train number, originating station, destination station, distance between them and travel time.
  4. The waitlist prediction feature has been introduced with the new website for the general user. With the help of this feature, users can check about the probability of confirmation of waitlisted and RAC tickets. If you are going to book a ticket and seat is not available in the train then you can click on CNF Probability to know what is the probability that the seat will be confirmed. In fact, on this page, the option of Confirm Availability on Alternate Trains and Confirm Availability on Alternate Class will also be available, so that you will get the facility to buy confirmed tickets.
  5. The My Account tab will now have options like My Profile, My Transactions and Link Your Aadhaar. Under My Profile, there are options to Update Your Profile, Change Password, Add/ Modify List, Add/ Delete Favorite Journey List and Preferred Bank. Whereas, My Transaction has options like booked ticket history, TDR status and ticket cancellation history.
  6. In the new system, users can do many things from the booked ticket history. Here you will get the option to cancel the ticket, SMS on your mobile, print the ticket, choose another train through Vikalp and change the boarding station.
